No Fun At All
No Fun At All
Swedish punk rock legends, No Fun At All are back and have today announced their new
12-track album, Grit, to be released on April 13th 2018 through Bird Attack Records.
Alongside the record announcement, the band have shared the video for lead single 'Spirit'
- Their first new material since 2009.
Having formed in 1991, No Fun At All quickly became one of the torchbearers of European
punk rock. Following the release of 1994's No Straight Angels, the band found themselves
headlining stages all over the world. Through until 2001, they continued to tour all over
the world in support of 1995's Out Of Bounds, 1997's The Big Knockover and 2000's State
Of Flow records, before calling it a day on the band.
After a show offer in the Spring of 2004, the band found that enjoyment and love again for
playing live that had been lost whilst relentlessly touring throughout the 90s. With
rekindled enthusiasm, No Fun At All committed themselves to a light touring schedule
over the years between 2004 and 2017, including supporting the 2009 release, Lowrider,
that the band self-released through Beat 'em Down Records.
2016 saw a lineup shuffle, with two long-time members of the band deciding to take a step
back. Following a band meeting in a Vienna restaurant, they decided that it was the time to
step it up once again. They recruited Stefan Bratt, formerly of Atlas Losing Grip, and
Fredrik Eriksson, formerly of Twopointeight to fill the empty bassist and guitarist
positions.
With fresh enthusiasm, the new line up jumped straight into the rehearsal room to work on
the new material for Grit. Alongside a number of shows and festivals throughout the
summer and fall of 2017 the band put together the new 12 tracks and hit the studio with
Mathias Farm from Millencolin as co-producer in his wonderful Soundlab Studio.
Piffbreak Arcade
Piffbreak Arcade is a 4 piece band from Toronto, Ontario. Their infusion of rock, hip-hop, and punk rock meld together to stylistically create the sound that is PBA. The band began in Dusty’s basement with the demoing of the 7 songs from 2011-2012 written by Dusty and Mike. These songs eventually became the band’s debut EP “At The Cineplex...” Over the year of 2012, Chris joined the band by adding live drums to the debut EP and eventually becoming a full time member. Chris was playing in a few projects at the time and recruited Chad to complete the band as it presently constituted.

Piffbreak Arcade has played a slew of shows across the GTA, ranging from small punk rock clubs, to larger venues, and headlining their own shows. Some highlights over the years have been their first show ever at Clinton’s in the heart of downtown Toronto, several shows at renowned Toronto music venues such as the Rivoli, Velvet Underground, and the Horseshoe Tavern; as well as the Rockpile West and East where they opened for the legendary Misfits in October of 2014.

After the release of “At The Cineplex...” PBA began playing the aforementioned shows at regular intervals. As a full band, the process of writing began for the songs which became the band’s sophomore EP “Two More Beers, Please” in spring 2015. This 6 song EP typified the current PBA sound, and the band released its first single “Amnesia.”

The band is currently working their upcoming EP set to be released in April of 2016. PBA have already recorded a single released in January--“Road Rage.” Piffbreak Arcade are looking forward to 2016 with the release of the upcoming EP, headlining shows, playing at Canadian Music Week and NXNE, as well as seeking label representation moving forward. Catch Piffbreak Arcade at their biggest headlining show yet: at the storied Lee’s Palace in Toronto on February 27th, 2016!
